berawal dari tahun 2005 badai matahari terjadi pada tanggal 23/january/2012. energi dari Flare matahari sampai ke atmosfir bumi pada tanggal 24/january/2012.
badai matahari ini berdampak pula padasatelit-satelityang ada di luar angkasa sana.sehinggal pengguna satelit pun merasakan dampaknya.contoh kecil seperti jaringan seluler misalnya. beberapa kali mengalami penurunan kinerjanya dan bahkan sampai terputus-putus miskipun itu tidak lama.
Menurut peneliti matahari dari Lembaga Penerbangan dan Antariksa Nasional (Lapan) Bandung, Clara Yono Yatini, badai matahari yang terjadi Senin sore, 23 Januari 2012, termasuk tipe II. “Tipe itu menandakan adanya gelombang kejut karena adapartikel matahariyang meloncat,” katanya, Rabu, 25 Januari 2012.
